Introduction

RuralShores(RSBS), a pioneer in taking work to the people in rural India, develops and trains rural youth and makes them industry ready. The skills development solutions are designed and delivered through its subsidiary RuralShores Skills Academy Pvt Ltd (RSA).

While the concept of a finishing school is not new, this area has seen very little focus in India. It is fragmented and such academies remain concentrated in tier I and II locations at best. There is a dearth of training centres/academies in the rural areas and as a result 10th and 12th standard and degree holders do not find an opportunity to develop professional skills. Saddled with scarce resources, industry will look towards rural India to provide the people power.

ITES/BPO has seen a steady 30 to 35% year-on-year growth since the financial year 2004-05 and so has the demand for manpower resources. Like in any market in any industry, if there is a sudden demand for resources with a particular skill-set, salary inflation and higher attrition are bound to happen. With the deteriorating quality of education, the industry has been spending time, effort and money in professional skills training to make the undergraduates and graduates employment ready. With the Telecom, Banking & Financial Services, Insurance (Healthcare, Life and General), Retail, Medical & Paramedical and Agricultural spreading and concentrating their reach into the rural markets, requirements for trained professionals in their respective domains is on the rise.

In the RuralShores ecosystem, training forms the corner-stone in ensuring delivery consistent value to customers. With constant change in processes, technologies, techniques, methods etc, the need for constant updation, training and development is addressed on an ongoing basis through the help of a well designed training programme conducted by seasoned professionals. There is a need for training centers/academy in the rural areas since both undergraduates and graduates do not find an opportunity to develop professional skills.

Skills Development Solutions

Fresher Training

The Foundation skills are applicable to all Fresher trainees and would include the following:

  • Basic Computing Skills:This would include understanding of the OS (Operating System), an introduction to internet, email, spreadsheet, word document, applications etc.
  • English Comprehension:This includes communication skills, spoken, written and comprehension.
  • Typing Skills:Basic and advanced typing skills developed using Typing Tutor Software.
  • Use Skills:Building professional attitudes, business etiquettes and related life management skills.

Refresher Training

RuralShores shall provide Refresher Training for existing employees that will enable them to upgrade their skills, from time to time, in areas such as Customer Relationship Management, Team Development, Presentation, Project and Performance Management and Leadership Development skills.

Further Studies

RuralShores also encourages its employees to pursue further studies (From High School pass to completion of Graduation and Post Graduation degrees as applicable).
